Cancer chooses no race. It chooses no gender. It chooses no age. It chooses no political positioned individuals. It chooses no religious beliefs. It chooses no sexual identity or sexual orientation. It chooses no nation over another. It chooses no human over animal. Cancer chooses life on earth. As bad as cancer is and as much as I wish it never existed, I am thankful and humbled by the unity it brings that most are blinded to.

Cancer is everywhere. Pink ribbons, benefit dinners, T-shirts, bumper stickers, posts on Facebook, somebody you know has died from it, someone else survived it. I have met a lot of cancer patients in my country. But it was great to meet the Cancer Survivors in Canada. I was amazed, how the government and health care system has support and encourage their patients. Patients teach students, doctors, and researchers to further develop. Now they are even stronger, more courageous than us. But what exactly we do with our patients! We had fight for our freedom; we have to fight every single day for livelihood. We can struggle, we can win! Our patients could be a great survivor. But they just need some facilities, motivations, some support. Hope that one day, our country has as many as survivors, that Cancer will run away by fear from us. Cancer is no joke fun. This is our chance to make an impact for those people and bring them a little joy and let them know someone out here cares. Together we can make this happen.

Let’s Fight Against Cancer Together

Find forgiveness in your heart for those who have wronged you. Love unconditionally, unsparingly. Love like you have an endless supply, I guarantee that you do. Find joy in the ability to complete the insignificant, everyday tasks. Hug your children more, worry less. Be present, I mean really present. Take chances, try new things. Say the words you hold in your heart. Actively and consistently practice gratitude for all that you have and all who are in your life. And Live. Live big and loud and without fear! I have spent the better part of the past year fighting for my life; I intend to spend every year I have left living a life worth fighting for! I do hope each of you will do the same.

We are social beings but sometimes asking for help is the hardest mountain to climb. Surgeries, chemo, radiation, anxiety, and depression all contribute to isolation. Sometimes the best crowbar for a breast cancer survivor out of isolation is a friend's motivation. This is a busy season where lots of folks are wrapped up in the capitalist machine. But if you know a cancer survivor, I implore you to make time for him or her. You may be worried about the grocery list, the hottest new toy, your income but they may be worried about whether they'll be around to celebrate every day. Thanks for reading and love and peace to all. People who think it's funny to make jokes about cancer, it's not please learn that. Even if your friend or family member has cancer it's still not ok. It's sad and painful and scary and about ten thousand more things. Please learn that. If someone is thinking about self-harm or ending their life and you're telling them to do it as a joke and they really did how you would live with yourself knowing that. I really could go on but I think I've made my point.
